Harry blinked a couple of times as the sun shone through the curtain of his four-poster, his hand searching his nightstand for his glasses. When his fingers touched the cold steel, he pulled the thin frame towards him, placing it on his nose. "Ron? You awake?" He asked, sticking his head through the curtains. It looked like the rest of their dorm mates had woken up early that day and he wondered why that was. It was a holiday after all. "Ron?" He called out again, letting himself slide from his bed and walking over to his best friend's bed. He pushed the heavy, red curtains aside and rolled his eyes as he saw the redhead still passed out, sprawled across his sheets. "Ron!" He yelled, hitting him on the arm. "Wake up!"
The other boy shot up, looking around. "Where's the fire?" Harry chuckled at Ron's shocked face. "No fire, just me." He rolled his eyes again as Ron let himself fall back into his pillow. "Leave me alone, Harry. It's too bloody early!"
"Early? It's nearly noon!" The black-haired boy pulled the curtains open even further, so the sun would keep Ron awake and turned towards the trunk at the end of his bed, readying himself to get dressed. "Mione's probably already waiting for us downstairs." He pulled the top of his pajama's over his head, throwing them onto his bed, looking at Ron from the corner's of his eyes to see if he was getting up.
"Mione's probably already doing her homework for next year," Ron muttered sarcastically as he too slid from his bed.
It didn't take them long to get dressed and to take turns in the bathroom and about fifteen minutes later, they were walking down the stairs to the common room. "Harry! Ron! Finally!" Hermione immediately walked up to the two boys, her hands resting on her hips. "I was just about to come up to wake the two of you!" Ron and Harry exchanged a quick glance, both rolling their eyes at the same time. "Hedwig just came in with a note from Hagrid." Those were the magic words. "How's he doing?" Harry asked. They hadn't been at Hagrid's in a while, what with all the homework they got, and he got excited at the thought of visiting their big friend.
Hermione pulled the letter from her pocket and unfolded it.
Ello Harry, Ron and Mione,
'S been ages since I've seen the three of ye and I was wondering if ye'd all forgotten about me. How 'bout tea at 1? Hope te see ye three then!
Hagrid
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Ron said, one eyebrow raised. "It's almost 1, isn't it?" Hermione nodded, folding the letter again and handing it to Harry. "But not before we've had breakfast!" He quickly added and Harry sighed, while Hermione slowly shook her head.
