Gone
Itachi Uchiha.
That was who stood before her, red eyes slowly going back to their original onyx colour. Her own eyes couldn't help but move up and down his body, seeing all the blood, but there was no sign that she was horrified, in fact to his eyes, she looked relieved, expectant, as if she knew this was going to happen.
" Itachi" Her voice was soft, quiet, sounding as if she was talking to a child, as if he was going to break at any second.
Her voice startled him from his thoughts, bringing him back to the reality that fate had brought him. Her pale blue eyes stared at him, full of unknown emotions, searching his face for any new cuts or bruises, before moving down to the rest of his visible skin. Finding none, they once again reached his face. He stared into her eyes, holding them there, hoping that his own eyes were portraying the emotions he felt, as her's were known to do. " You have to do this. I am ready" Her voice, though still quiet, was strong and he knew that no matter how hard he tried, she wasn't going to be talked out of it. "You have to kill me" Those words cut through his heart, hurting him more then any injury that had ever been inflicted upon his person. He knew she was spaeaking the truth, as that was what his brain knew he had to do, but his heart was telling him otherwise. He just wanted to shout at her to run, because no matter how fast he may be, she would always be faster. He didn't want to kill her, he wanted to give up, run away and take her with him, grow up with her, start a family. But both of them knew, from the moment the moon had risen to its fullest in the sky, that she was going to end up dead as well, like the rest of his family. She may of not be an Uchiha by blood, but she was trough love and his family had excepted her, treated her like their own. So she had to die as well.
" I'm going to miss it, you know" His voice startled her " Seeing you here, evertime I come back from a mission. I remember when we were about 10, we stood at this very spot and you told me you loved me. I said it back and we both laughed. In all my life, i had never been so happy" he finished, a small smile adorning his features, making him look like the young treenager he actually was. " I keep want ing to tell you to run, but I can't. This is our destiny, so cruelly handed to us by fate" His speech finishe he picked up his chosen weapon, the one that he would kill her with, his lover. It was a simple kunai, but one that she had given him for his birthday last year. She recgonised and took a deep breath before smiling at him and saying " I'm ready." Lifting up his right hand, which was the hand that held the kunai, he brought it down, quick and fast hoping to make it painless. He wished desperatly for his eyes to close, but they didn't, not listening to his command. About to turn away, he heard something her never thought he'd here again - " I love you, Itachi Uchiha." Those five words were enough to make him cry, hot, salty tears running down his cheeks.
Catching her before she fell was easy, it was staring into her lifless blue eyes that was hard. Laying her on the ground, he told her something no one would ever hear him say again " I love you too, Izumi." Knowing she wasn't going to answer wasn't helping him stop crying, as he knew he would have to do before he ventured out of the village, so he sat there, holding her still warm body until he ran out of tears, sobs coursing through his body, making his whole body shake.
Knowing that what he was about to do was going to confirm what he had just done, he stood up, placing her body on the ground as gently as he could.
Turning his back on her forever, he walked away, gone.
