Desolation
Still upon this unknown world,
Treads still on the ground.
One of hundreds, thousands,
That humanity has found.
…
The air here, it is far too thin,
For humanity to breathe.
Sure enough, there is no grass,
The wind carries no leaves.
…
Nothing to observe here,
But this world's sole rising sun.
A G2V main sequence star,
When all is said and done.
…
Will power all my panels,
But what is here to observe?
Upon this empty, barren orb,
This world so far from Earth?
…
Can only just keep driving on,
Through the sand and dust.
Until day comes when I give out,
Upon the wastelands, doomed to rust.
