"I am feeling rather anxious right now, Jedediah." Octavius told the blond, wringing his ads in front of him.
"It'll be fine, Octy, everyone's been saying how they want us together - though, if we weren't so small, we might not have heard any of those conversations without being spotted…"
"You are right." Octavius took a deep breath. "We can do this. I can do this."
"Darn tootin', I'm right! And yeah, we're in this together now, partner." Jedediah reached out to hold the older man's hand, stroking the back of it with his gloved thumb.
"Yeah, together."

The room went silent, as the pair walked in, hands grasped firmly together.
"Finally!" Someone - possibly Nicky - yelled from the middle of the group.
Then the entire room began cheering.
A blush covered the two mens' faces - they looked shyly down at the ground, their hands still joined between them.
Larry crouched in front of the pair, placing his hand on the floor, so that they could climb on, so that he could lift them nearer his face.
"I'm really glad for you guys." the night guard told them, walking over to let them stand on the main desk.
Throughout the rest of the night, various people congratulated them pair on getting together. The duo were rather embarrassed about it, but they were very glad about all of the positive reactions.
Slightly before sunrise, Nicky came up to the two, offering to carry them back to the diorama room.
As they ventured to the Hall of Miniatures, Nicky began speaking.
"You guys are perfect for each other. I can only hope to have someone in the future as good a partner to myself as you are to each other."
"Ah, shucks Nick. That's rather cheesy, don't you think?"
"I know." Nicky smiled.
"You're rather young to be thinking of these things Nicholas."
"I know… I just think about it sometimes, like when I see you two together, and Teddy and Sacagawea, and even Ahkmenrah and my dad. Though, I didn't need to walk in on those two the other night. I'm still having nightmares." Nicky shivered.
Jedediah and Octavius laughed.
"I'm sure you will find your true love one day, Nicky. You just might need to wait a while to find the 'one'. Me and Jed knew each other for more than 50 years before getting together, so, you never know."
"I hope I don't have to wait fifty years…"
He dropped each figure off on their correct displays.
Both miniatures whispered, just before the sun rose: "I wish I hadn't waited fifty years." and sighed, looking slightly towards the wall that separate them. "So much time could have been spent together."
