Chapter 1- Forgotten
In the Tower of Guidance, the so-called dark goddess Yune sent her chosen to the top to battle her counterpart Ashera. Led by legendary mercenary Ike, the team prevailed, and so peace was restored to the continent. The sacred blades Alondite and Ragnell were returned to their rightful place in Begnion's castle, watched over by the Apostle Sanaki. However, in this radiant dawn, one grave mistake was made....
Long before the Second War of the Gods.
Altina is breathing heavily. She is on her last legs. Lehran has long gone, and she has given away her two companion swords, Alondite and Ragnell. Her eyelids flicker. She has escaped many close calls, but she knows there is no escaping this trap. She remembers a time when she was a young girl trying to mke it as a mercenary. Separated during a battle, she encountered two beasts of unimaginable glory. Their names were Soan and Dheginsea. She was astounded by their kindness, and lived with them for several years. She was commanded by Ashera, goddess of order, to exterminate her sister Yune. All they did was seal her into the medallion her beloved always wore..she remembers.
But...she remembers another moment. The time when she received her swords. There was a third one. Her very first. From when she was a girl lugging a blade far too large for her, all the way to the time when she buried it in her homeland, after the goddess Ashera blessed it by accident. She gave it too much power, and the others slightly less. She feared what would happen if the blade fell into the wrong hands. But, in her last moments...she can see through the sands of time. She sees a young man with unruly blue hair walking through a desert full of hardships, accompanied by a smaller boy dressed in voluminous robes. She knows the man is already a hero. But she worries, because his work is not yet done...but he will prevail. As she did, the next hero of the ages will come through with her old forgotten sword and make a mark that will last for the ages to come. Altina, first lady of the Begnion Theocracy, closes her eyes and plunges into the dark.
