Disclaimer: I most definitely do not own Labyrinth or David Bowie in any way or form or there would've been a whole lot more of him in the movie. Not to mention a sequel..yeah.

Surrender

Those horrible words… Jareth stared into space, his eyes focused beyond the physical. Those six little words… Jaw clenched, Jareth conjured a crystal. No power… In the crystals depths lay a girl sleeping. She tossed and turned as if plagued by nightmares. "Oh Sarah" murmured Jareth, "you have no idea of the power I have…though it is not over you…but I can see you. I can and will continue to haunt your dreams, planting the dark seeds of doubt. As it sets in you will begin to think that perhaps you were wrong, and maybe I do hold the power. Then, my dear, is the moment I wait for. Fo that moment will be when you finally surrender, and I I will be back for you."

Thus perished…

"You have no power over me…" Jareth's look of hope transfigured to one of despair. Sarah repeated the line. A look of pure hopelessness replaced despair. "Oh Sarah… You don't know what you've done." Sarah's look of trium[h was replaced by a look of horror. A burst of red blossemed across the front of Jareth's magnificent white attire. He fell to his knees, barely audible. "…no power…no life…" With those last words Jareth collapsed. Thus perished the Goblin King.

No winners

Sarah tossed and turned, her dreams once again filled by that song. She ran and ran through a dream labyrinth. She couldn't stop. The prescence behind her kept on with its singing lament. The voice so familiar to her…the one she wished (silently of course) that she could hear again. "Live without your sunlight…" the words haunted her… "love without your hearbeat…" Sarahstilled in sleep. She understood now what he had been offering. "Immortality Sarah…" jareth murmured down to her sleeping form. "I was offering you all I could give…eternal life, eternal power…eternal love." He looked away. "Goodbye Sarah." He vanished. Sarah shot up in bed. She looked at the spot jareth had just occupied and buried her face in her hands. Finally, she understood what she had won, and what she had truly lost. And she realized that in the Labyrinth, there are no winners.

Vanilla

Vanilla… She remembered that above all else. Over the years Sarah had forgotten a lot about the Labyrinth, but never him. His look, his touch… His smell…always of wild vanilla. She always dreamt of it…and him… Though she had given it her best effort, she had never been able to find anything like it. As she thought about it, she could almost smell it fill the room. She breathed it in deeply, letting out a sigh of contented intoxication. "Mmm…" She heard a small voice at the back of her mind. 'What do you want Sarah…? Is this what you need?... Tell me…' Sarah closed her eyes. "I want…I need…" 'Sarah…' interrupted the voice. 'What do you wish?..." Sarah was too lost in the scent by this point to realize the danger in the situation. She smiled to herself. "I wish… I wish I could smell this forever…" A soft chuckle from behind her didn't bring her from her trance, nor did the arms that wrapped themselves around her. She was still staring dreamily into space as she disappeared, the voice leaving behind only a faint smell of vanilla and these words, "Like I told you before Sarah… I am a generous King."
