Marrien looked around at all the destruction. Dressed all in green she often wondered why she had been the one to inherit the power of wind. She and the others had fought to the best of their abilities, but now they were exhausted. Staggering to his feet an Eltarian dressed all in blue raised his hand.
"My friends I do not think we can win this war."
A Tri-forian in yellow rolled on to her back as she stared at her fellow guardian. "What choice do we have Laron?" she asked. "We cannot let this planet fall to the shadows."
"I agree Trirain, but none of us can fight much longer".
The final member of their group sighed. This one was dressed all in red the others had no idea what gender, or even what species the red elemental was.
"I think we will need to use the elemental seal" the red elemental said.
"Are you sure Asktin?" Trirain asked, dismay in her voice.
"I am".
"But we don't have the power of light here" Marrien said, even as she stood next to Asktin.
"I know" Asktin replied. "And that means the seal will last for a limited period of time."
Laron nodded as he stood next to Trirain. "We will have to hope that the power will find others to defend the universe when the seal gives way."
A bright light started shining from each of the guardians. Each light shown in their individual. The light formed a circle, and closed around a figure we can't see about 20 meters away.
"NO!" Is heard from the figure as the circle closes.
February 27th 2007 City of Arora Falls
Jason smiled at Kim as they left the theater. His life had been almost bliss ever since marrying Kimberly heart 3 years ago. He and Kim had moved to the city of Arora Falls so Kim could open a non-mobile vet clinic. Since moving they had lead a wonderful life. It hadn't been all smiles and kisses though. They had one daughter Crystal, but in Kim's last month of pregnancy, she had been diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully it was caught early enough that the doctors had been able to remove it, but the down side was that Kim had to have a hysterectomy. This meant He and Kim could have no more kids, but they didn't mind. Crystal was only 3 years old, but she was already trying to walk.
As they walked down the main street, holding hands, and talking about dinner, a young man walked up to them. "Hello Jason, Kimberly."
Jason turned in surprise. "Hello, who are you if I may ask?"
The young man extends his hand. "Nick red mystic force ranger."
Jason and Kim shake Nick's hand. "So what brings you here nick?"
Nick looks around then says, "Have you heard of the battle that took place here on earth a thousand years ago?"
Jason shakes his head, but Kim looks thoughtful. "I think I heard something about a fierce battle waged a long time ago, but I never heard any details."
Nick nods. "I heard about this battle from my mother after we defeated our villain. From what I heard 4 warriors using the powers of earth, wind, fire, and water fought some evil that wants the power of the elements for themselves. Their evil was sealed away, but the seal was recently broken."
Kim asked, "How did that happen?"
Nick said, "You've heard of Andrew Hartford?" When they both nodded Nick continued. "Yesterday he found, and took the Corona Aurora. This not only released creatures who want the power of the Corona Aurora for themselves, but also destroyed the seal formed around the evil sorceress Scalaxes."
Jason looked puzzled. "So why are you telling us? Wouldn't it be better if your team handled this, or Hartford's team?"
"Hartford's team is focused on finding the jewels for the Corona Aurora, and as for my team, we would" Nick replied. "However the mystic mother informed me that a new team would be needed to fully harness the power of the elements."
Kim seemed lost in thought for a few minutes. "How would a new team fight this evil sorceress?"
Nick reached into his pockets and handed 5 jewels to Kim. "These are the elemental jewels. These will enable teens to morph into rangers."
Kim smiled at Nick and Jason. "Leave it to me guys," she said. "I think I know just who can form this new team."
An: So this is the setup chapter for my newest power rangers story. I have not yet figured out the names for these rangers, but we will meet them in the next chapter. This story takes place alongside Operation Overdrive, but the teams will never mix. I have no interest in Operation overdrive, and so don't expect to see any of the rangers from that season. Sadly this means no Kira, but I'll survive. As always please leave a review about anything you think I should put in this story, or if something is unclear. And just to be clear, this story is in the same universe as my last story. However the only rangers you will see from that story are Jason and Kim. Don't worry though, this story connects Pursuing Black, and the next story.
