Disclaimer: I frickin love D Gray Man, but I do not own it.

AN: Thought that there wasn't enough AllenxLenalee stories, to those who feel the same (Before you attack me, I do not hate any AllenxKanda, AllenxLavi, etc. [there are some stories that I particularly enjoy that have this pairing] I just thought it would be nice if there was one more AllenxLenalee)

CHAPTER 1- First Encounter

Lenalee's POV

"Brother! Did you unpack all of your things?" Lenalee swings around, her two high pigtails whooshing in her face as she faced her older brother panting in exhaustion from all of his equipment. She quickly plops down the box she was holding on the porch and rushes to grab one of the boxes off of her brother's hands. As she does so, she heard a sniffing sound and peers around the boxes to see Komui crying.

"I- I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful loving sisterr~~!" Lenalee sighs and nudges her brother along the steps with one foot. "Come on brother, we still have the paintings and shelves to bring in!" She glances up at the new house and smiled. A new home...

Allen's POV

A strange white-haired boy looks up from his hand in surprise of unfamiliar voices coming in from his left. He sits up, puts down the object that was in his hand, which chirped angrily, and peers through one of his windows. A girl with long dark hair that had a deep green tint in the bright sun was fussing with a slightly older man with glasses and dark bluish hair. He seemed to be… crying? He watches the amusing scene as the man tries to take some boxes from the girl, who kicks him with one foot (while holding the boxes) in response. "I can hold it myself brother! I'm not a little kid anymore!" He snorts when the brother starts sobbing dramatically, but quickly notes that the tears are fake. Suddenly, a sharp peck to his ear makes him tear his eyes from the scene. He is met with a very adorable and very angry fat golden canary.

"Aw Timcanpy, are you mad that I stopped petting you?" The slightly larger than average canary chereeped at him in response and flicked his long tail in the air. The boy chuckled, a small musical sound in the otherwise silent room as he scratched under the bird's beak. He watches his new neighbors unpack for a little longer before turning around and sitting back down.

A few hours later…

Lenalee's POV

Lenalee stands up and stretches as they put down the last couple of boxes in the house. She looks around, enjoying how the sun's bright rays shine through the large windows and light up the whole room. "Komui, I'm going to go upstairs and see which bedroom I want!" Without waiting for a response, the Chinese girl bounces up the steps eagerly and looks around. There was a small space that had three doors, one in a small hallway, that led to other rooms. After opening and peering inside each room, Lenalee decided she liked the one with a particularly large window facing the neighbors to the right the best. Suddenly curious, Lenalee goes to the window and looks at the neighbor's house, which coincidentally, also has a window facing her. The room inside was a bit dark, and since the windows needed a bit of cleaning, Lenalee squints to try to see inside. There was a bed, some posters, a desk and a large bird cage of some sort in the opposite corner of the bed. It was pretty clean, especially since judging from the blankets on the bed and the wallpaper, it was a boy inhabiting that room. With a jolt, Lenalee thought Maybe I should introduce myself to my neighbors. She walks down the stairs to see one of her brother's inventions setting up the carpets, couches and other decor around the room. Turning around and walking into the kitchen, Lenalee sees her brother putting away the silverware. "Komui, I'm going to say hi to our neighbors!" She said, and he turns around and hesitates, but nods. "Just be quick! I don't want some weirdo try to hit on my sweet Lenalee!" She huffs in annoyance and embarrassment, but smiles at her brother anyway and leaves.

She goes to the house to her left first, a quaint little home that was a nice shade of light blue. As she rings the doorbell, she hears a muffled "Just one moment please!" and shuffling as the person went to the front door. Lenalee is greeted by old lady with long white hair partly tied in a ponytail and strong, still young eyes. The lady looks at Lenalee as she inclines her head slightly and says, "Hello there! My name is Lenalee, and my brother and I are moving to the house next door, and I just want to say hi!" She smiles. The old lady nods and holds out a hand, which Lenalee takes, surprised when the old lady gives a strong shake. "It's nice to meet you darling. You can just call me Mother, I've lived in this neighborhood so long everyone seems young to me." She gave a small chuckle. "Are you going to Black Order University (So creative I know)?" Lenalee nods. "I'll be joining when the school year starts in about 3 weeks." Mother nods again. "Well, I hope to see you around. Goodbye, Lenalee." Lenalee continues smiling as Mother closes her front door, and as she walked to the other house, which was a grayish blue, her thoughts drifted to her previous house. It was a nice neighborhood, although the man next door was pretty suspicious. She pushed that out of her head and headed up the steps to her other neighbor's house, knocking. There was silence at first, and Lenalee was about to turn around and head back to her home when there were steps coming closer. She quickly put on a smile, though it dropped as she saw the person who opened the door.

"Hello miss. I take it as you are the new neighbor?"

AN: Aw man this is pretty short. Hello there, peeps! I'm not new to FanFiction, though this is my first time writing one in quite a while (don't read my other ones they're super bad), and it's also my first time writing one for this fandom. The reason why it's short is because I'm not sure if people would like this; there have been quite a bit of high school/university AU's, but there wasn't one like the one I had in mind, so I wanted to try it out! I would really love it if you would take some time to leave a review, my writing is a bit rusty. If people like it, I would love to continue it!
