Small drabble about Stefan's thoughts after his phone call to Elena in 3x01.
Wonderful episode, by the way. Not the best of the entire show, but pretty good for a season opening. Paul Wesley knows how to play the bad guy.
Stefan hangs up the phone and just stays here, motionless. Elena's words still echo in his head.
"I love you, Stefan. Hold onto that. Never let that go."
But it's hard. It's so hard. Stefan knows that he's doing bad things, and what scares him is that he doesn't care. But what Klaus told him… It made him realize that he's not totally lost. Not yet. That's why he decided to call her. He needed to hear her voice. She loves him, despite what he's doing. And that makes him stronger. He owes Klaus, and he hates it. But a deal's a deal, and Klaus saved Damon's life. So Stefan will follow his orders. He knows he's about to become that ripper again. The part of himself he despises and tried to bury for more than sixty years now. But Elena loves him. And he knows their love will overcome everything. At least he hopes so.
That was short. Well, it was supposed to be, anyway. I'm currently writing a few other stories that I'll publish soon. Please leave a review to tell me what you thought about the drabble and the episode !
