McCool?

Morning air filled his lungs and he strolled amongst the chaos of D.C. Everyone around him was rushing with their heads down focused on getting to the places they needed to be but he was just taking it all in; the brightness of the sky, the smell of the spring blossoms that lined the streets and the sound of footsteps. There was something different about today but he couldn't put his finger on just what it was. He perceived it as he walked down the street. He could feel it as he walked into NCIS headquarters. He greeted the receptionist that caught his eye with a lazy smile. As he walked away he could have sworn she blushed at his attention. This was new, he thought to himself not being able to stop the feeling of satisfaction that made itself known in the pit of his stomach.

It was then he noticed what was different about today. There was something altered about how people were looking at him.

He strolled into the bullpen with his hand tucked in the pockets of his black coat, the collar turned up a reminder that winter had not yet abandoned hope, the grey of his Armani suit peeking out with authority. His colleagues sat at their desks watching as he made his way to his desk an air of sophistication surrounding him an unreadable smile tugged at his lips. Peeling off his coat he placed it on the back of his chair, the silver of his Rolex catching the light.

His female colleagues noted the confidence that lingered around him as they walked past.

He looked different. He looked good.

Tony's reaction was enough to confirm this.

"McCool?"
