So I was watching A Baby Story (I never watch that show, it was just in the background while I painted…) and this idea just popped up when I heard that the brother was over-protective of his new baby sister. It forcibly reminded me of Danny, so… here goes!

"Maddie, your child is perfectly healthy. The due date is one and a half months from now. Here's your first baby photo," a doctor, with short honey-brown hair, kind eyes, and a perfect smile said. She seemed in her early forties.

It was September 12th, 1991. Maddie and Jack Fenton were visiting so as to discover the gender of their developing child. They had a beautiful daughter, Jasmine, with long, wavy, flowing orange locks. This came from her mother. Their son took the paternal route. He had deep, pitch-black hair, with the most adorable little bangs a two-year-old could have. He had a few freckles, and the biggest blue eyes, perfect for a puppy-dog look.

Maddie took the photograph in her gentle hands, and squealed with delight.

"We're having a daughter!"

Jack looked over his wife's shoulder.

"Right you are, Sweetcakes," he responded. He smiled.

Madeline Fenton felt a tug on her pants as she sat on the couch, eating pickles with chocolate sauce.

"Mommy, when is the new baby coming?" Danny's dazzling blue eyes stared into his mother's. She smiled down at him.

"Just a few more months, sweetheart," Maddie responded. She went back to her repulsive snack. Danny crawled up on the couch.

"When the baby comes is, is it gonna be a boy or a girl?"

"She will be a girl, just like your sister, Jazz."

"Will she look like Jazz?" Danny asked, with a disgusted look on his face.

"Silly boy…" Maddie replied as she tickled his tummy. He had the sweetest little toddler grin at that. "But I don't know! We'll have to wait and see."

Three months after that memorable encounter with her son, Maddie was giving birth. After the umbilical cord was cut and tied, she was holding her new child. The girl was extremely pale, and crying in her mother's arms. Maddie rocked her infant, and kissed her forehead. Soon after, her parents, Jack's parents, and her own children, Jazz and Danny, were piled at the door. Maddie was weeping, just as her daughter had so many moments before.

"Mommy, what's wrong?" Jazz looked extremely concerned as to why her mother was tearing. "Did you get hurt?"

The adults laughed; the answer was obvious. But that was, in fact, not why she had imitated her daughter. It was simply because she was overcome with joy.

"What's her name?" Danny was extremely curious about this new life form.

Maddie looked to Jack, then back, and responded with a simple "Jessica."

A few days after the birth, Maddie had come home. Jack, Jazz, and Danny had been piled at the door, with a colorful "WELCOME HOME, MOMMY AND JESSICA!" banner falling from the ceiling. Danny ran forward to greet his other family members.

"Hi Mommy!" he called.

Maddie wrapped her arm around her son, kneeling to do so.

"Welcome home, Jessica," Danny whispered to his new sister. He patted her forehead. She sneezed, and Danny withdrew his hand immediately, shocked. The parents smiled at one another.

"Jack… it's your turn…"

"No, Maddie. I cradled her last time. You do it."

The Fentons were awoken, once again, by the wails of their new infant. It got old after a while, especially considering this was their third child.

"Jack… please?"

"No."

"Jack…"

"No…"

"Jack…"

"No!"

"JACK! NOW!"

"OKAY! I'M GOING! Gosh woman, shut up!"

Jack put his daughter into her crib, and started pushing her back and forth. This was going to be a long week.
