"Oh my God, Johnny!" Roxy says as she plays with my cat ears and my tail. "Oh my God you're so cute!"
"You really think so?" I ask her. I've been really insecure lately, and being a cat doesn't help.
"Totally! Your little ears are so fuckin' ADORABLE!" she exclaims happily. I nuzzle into her chest as she plays with my hair. I love seeing her happy. Her shoulders and blonde hair bounce as she bounces up and down in the chair, squealing about how cute I am. Her hair falls around her face as she laughs and giggles about my cat-ness.
I notice the little smattering of freckles signature to Striders and Lalondes. "You're beautiful," I whisper so that she can't hear me. Ever since I met her, I've had this huge crush on her. Her blonde hair and that low cut top she wears that exposes her shoulders. I sigh as I think about how pretty she is. The only thing keeping me from telling her is the fact that she's my best friend's mom. Well, that and my own social awkwardness.
"God dammit Johnny you're so fuckin' CUUUUTE!" she squeals again. "I just can't get over it!" she hugs me to her face and hops off the couch. "I've gotta show Jakey!" Oh. Right. Jake. Roxy's boyfriend. She runs out of our shared living room, still holding me in her arms. Yeah. All twenty of us live here. Saving the multiverse has its perks. She scrambles up to Jake's room, where he's practicing his gunslinging. "Hi, Jakey!" she says excitedly. My ears perk up. What? It's not my fault her excited voice sounds like her "let's make out" voice. Jake blushes. It looks like he's thinking the same thing.
"Oh, why…hello there, my dearest Roxanne," Jake flirts with her and kisses her hand. She giggles as a light blush appears on her cheeks and she brings me closer to her. "Oh, hello, John!" he says happily. He's actually pretty cool. It just bugs me that Roxy is dating him. "Uh…cat ears? How did this happen?" he looks at Roxy confused.
I wiggle out of Roxy's arms and stand up to my full height, just barely taller than Jake. "It was Nepeta, I think. She used some kind of kitty majyyks," I explain and lean my elbow on Roxy's shoulder. She doesn't shrug me away. Hey. I'll take what I can get so far.
"Well, we'd better get you fixed right up then, shouldn't we?" he asks, clearly a little put off by my cat-ness.
"But he's so cute, though!" she coos. She grabs my hand and fiddles with my ears. Jake looks at this with disdain. Either he thinks I'm weird, or thinks Roxy is flirting with me. In fact, she probably is. She's just kind of got a flirty personality. I wiggle my eyebrows at him jokingly. He glares at me and pounds his fist. My ears go down. I don't like this new Jake.
