Writer's Block

Shigure tapped his pencil on the large desk. He was supposed to be writing, according to the ever-demanding Mitchan. But how could he write at a time like this? The other housemates had been gone for days! They claimed to be "at the dojo", but Shigure suspected they were just trying to get away from him. Only Tohru was left, and Shigure was under strict orders not to touch her, as she was sick in bed. Sure, he always complained about Yuki and Kyo destroying his house- but he would do anything for a little excitement in his life. He was an author after all, he needed inspiration.

"Aya, my love? Will you please come visit your dearest Shigure?" Shigure stated enthusiastically, in third person for effect. "Why, of course!" Ayame shouted before hanging up, no doubt preparing his outfit for the visit. So far so good, but Shigure still had one problem. How could he convince Hatori to come?

"Hatori-san, your presence has been requested at Shigure Sohma's estate," The sullen house maid that told him began to leave. "He says it's some kind of medical emergency…". Hatori had been busy, but he knew this must be urgent. Shigure almost always requested his assistance personally, and Tohru was sick.

When Hatori's car came into view of Shigure's house he expected to see ambulances. Maybe a few police cars. He did not expect to find Shigure and Ayame on the porch "professing their love for each other". They definitely had some explaining to do. The car beeped when he clicked the doors shut.

Shigure's head shot in Hatori's direction, his play-mate was here. "Shigure, I'm hoping you have a very good reason for faking an emergency. What do you want?" Hatori inquired sternly. "Oh, Hari! It is an emergency though!" They screeched dramatically.

"What kind of emergency?"

"It's horrible, Tori-san! A terrible case of writer's block. You must help our poor Gure-san!" Ayame cried, flashing his best puppy dog face. "You do know I can't cure that, right?" Hatori asked, cocking his eyebrow. "That's not true, Hari! We just need a little bit of inspiration. Will you please help us?" They cried. Hatori simply nodded slowly.

"Okay, so the title is "Under the Sea", and the story is about a handsome young seahorse!" Shigure explained. Hatori did not like where this was going. "No, absolutely not! I'm not going to transform for your "inspiration". Have some d-" Hatori was cut off by two men suddenly grabbing his arms and pulling him inside. Now, Hatori was a strong man. He had several inches on Shigure and Ayame, and could win in a fight with one of them any day.

Sadly, he couldn't take them both. He was rushed up the stairs and into a room. "No. This is not happening." He thought as he noticed the feminine detail of the room. This was Tohru's room. Tohru was quietly sleeping on her large pink bed. "Tohru, my little flower! We need your help!" Shigure exclaimed. Tohru, always polite, got up and asked what he needed. "We need you to hug Tori-san! For research of course." Ayame stated excitedly. "I-I don't know, I me-" Tohru was cut off by a playful push.

*Poof*

Hatori lay quietly on the floor, in his seahorse form. Everybody was quiet, actually. "Perfect!" Shigure yelled before running off, Ayame not very far behind.

"I'm so sorry, Hatori." Tohru whispered. She was curled up on the ground next to Hatori. He knew he needed water, but this moment was too serene for him to notice. There they were. Just two weak people. Sitting on the ground. Together.

Author's Note- Thanks for reading, guys! All rights go to Natsuki Takaya, in case you were under the impression that I am the creator of Fruits Basket. I know you guys were probably looking for a yaoi, given the description. But it is rated "K". Just a little one-shot (too long to be a flash-fiction). Anyways, the reading part is already done, next is reviewing. Reviews are greatly appreciated but not required :D
