Mitch started as his half-brother let out a sharp, angry curse. The two were working on a portal room, with Mitch working on the floor as Jerome worked on the roof. He turned to see a blur of brown fur and black cloth head to the ground. Then the older man picked himself up and knocked the dust off his clothes, muttering about spiders under his breath. "What?" Mitch asked, holding back his chuckle as Jerome climbed back on the roof.

"Oh nothing, just a spider decided to kick me in the face and commit suicide at the same time." Mitch looked up to see if his brother was joking only to see him staring down seriously at him. Then he lost it.

"It actually hit you before it fell?"

Jerome glared at him, then started laughing as well. "Yeah, it was kind of funny." When he got the roof fixed, he leapt down, and stared at his brother. " ... Seriously? ... I think you went a little overboard, bro."

Mitch looked up from where he was making the front entrance longer, and gave him a sheepish smile. "Um, maybe?" Jerome shook his head, smiling.

"I'm going on patrol. I'll be back soon." With that, Mitch watched his brother grab his musket and head outside into the dark.

Jerome stared at a fin in the distance. A shark, perfect for target practice. Aiming, he shot the shark, then again, killing it. Diving down, Jerome removed two teeth from the corpse, and surfaced to hear Mitch calling out. "Jerome, I made it! The portal, I made it! Get over here!" Grinning, Jerome rushed to his brother. When he saw the portal to the nether, his mouth fell open around his knees.

"Wow." He whispered, quietly using the fire starter to set it. The brothers grabbed extra weapons and food from the chest, then went through the portal together.
