The Fallen Apple

Bella Swan was relaxing on one of the rare sunny days, there in Forks. She was in the beautiful park, resting against a humungous apple tree. The wind was blowing very gently, making the grass and trees sway slightly. Bella closed her eyes and savoured the feeling of the wind against her face.

"Is this how you usually spend you Saturday afternoons, my precious Bella?" asked a dreamy voice from behind her.

Bella sat up and glanced behind her. There, she saw Edward standing in the shadow of the tree. She stared at him for a minute.
"Well, I would usually spend them with you, but you were out hunting last time I knew." She replied sarcastically.

Edward chuckled, as always, and was sitting next to her in a flash. "I guess you got lucky today." He joked.
Bella flashed him an amused look.

The strength of the wind picked up and the tree strained against it. They heard a snap and Bella looked up to see that an apple was falling towards them.
Edward cupped his hands in front of him and the apple landed in his hands. He smiled to Bella and held it out to her.

Bella looked down at the apple, resting in the palms of Edwards pale hands....
