Hermione sat on the bed, their bed.

I like to watch you sleep at night,

To hear you breathe by my side.

And although sleep leaves me behind,

There's no where I'd rather be.

She sobbed as he wasn't there, would never be there again.

And now our bed is oh so cold

My hands feel empty, no one to hold.

She smiled bitterly as she recalled the nightly fights over the duvet, usually ending up in them making love and laughing.

She desperately needed him to be here, now. Knowing that he wouldn't be. Ever again. She wasn't what he wanted anymore.

She recalled their words as he had gently broken it off. She, Hermione Granger had almost begged, begged Ron that he was wrong. They could make it work. Best friends, lovers, partners. He needed her, She knew it even if he didn't.

She remembered the three years they had been together, always together. Loving each other. She had never wavered. She knew he was scared, that was all. Scared of his feelings.

She jerked her head up as she thought she heard a noise.

She broke right then, her face contorted in pain as she realised that there would be no forgiveness. Ron hadn't made a silly mistake. He wanted someone else. Not her.

She hit out in anger at him as he collected things from their room. Not looking at her.

Hermione collapsed onto the bed as he left. Knowing that her heart would never mend. It never could. She was lost without him.
