"Teenage Genius"

(To the tune of The Aquabats' "Canis Lupis")

Hey! What about me? I'm cool! I'm a super genius

In our society, I'm uncool

Because the way I think's mechanical

But I know there's more out there just waiting there for me

I could rule the world,

The whole human race,

Then who could be laughing at me?

I'd be a

Superhero

Protecting all the world's citizens

Teenage genius:

Building robots in my dad's basement

I'll rule the world!

Teenage genius:

H.Q. in abandoned gas station

I'll save the world!

The scene's America, just last year

In Dakota, San Francisco

Real-life superhero show

And I'm part of it, how far am I gonna go?

Shen-Gong-Wu; they're all mine

Metahumans mutating all the time

I'm not the one dictating what I do

I want to answer to me not to you

Teenage genius:

Building robots in my dad's basement

I'll rule the world!

Teenage genius:

H.Q. in abandoned gas station

I'll save the world!

We just want to be happy,

We will use our gifts in our own way,

'Cause we're not pathetic

We're the real thing

When we can be alone

Teenage genius:

Building robots in my dad's basement

I'll rule the world!

Teenage genius:

H.Q. in abandoned gas station

I'll save the world!

Teenage genius:

Building robots in my dad's basement

I'll rule the world!

Teenage genius:

H.Q. in abandoned gas station

I'll save the world!

Author's Note: This song was written in a fit of insomnia as an ode to characters like Richie Foley and Jack Spicer, who somehow manage to be both highly intelligent and highly pathetic. They know they'd never get anywhere without Virgil and Wuya, but they don't want to believe that…thus the "I want to answer to me" bit in the song. I used "San Francisco" in the second verse because the first fight between Jack and the Xiaolin Dragons occurs in Chinatown, and because I believe Jack lives somewhere in California. I have no excuse for the "Shen-Gong-Wu/Metahumans" lines.
