"Taichou, I'm hungry."
"You're always hungry, Matsumoto. If you didn't train daily, you'd be as big as Jidanbo."
"Hey!" she threw a stapler at his head, which he dodged effortlessly.
"Anyways, just go to the kitchens if you want food." he said quickly, knowing that Matsumoto was capable of throwing much heavier things than mere staplers once she was angered.
"I would, taichou, but I'm tired."
"Well; either overcome your laziness and go eat something, or ignore your hunger and stay on the couch."
"Ne, taichou, you're a 'genius', right?" she looked at the floor nervously.
"So I've been told,' he answered warily.
"Well, can you cook?" she asked hopefully.
He nearly knocked over his ink bottle.
"What?" he managed to choke out.
"Please?!"
"Matsumoto, we had the kitchens moved last year so they would be closer to you, and now you're too lazy to even go downstairs?! You seriously expect me to stop my work to cook for you?" he stressed the last three words.
She nodded.
--
"Taichou..."
"No."
"How'd you even know what I was going to ask?"
"Easy. For the past hour, you've been begging me to make you a pasta salad every chance you get."
"Hm...have I? Well, I'm sorry, taichou. I won't do that anymore if it really bothers you."
"Thank you."
"Can you make me some noodles then?"
--
"Taichou, can you-"
"Matsumoto, if what you are about to say has any relevancy to the paperwork I am currently doing, by all means, speak. If you're asking me to prepare any sort of cuisine, on the other hand, you will be suspended from division quarters and be forced to do your work at home."
"Huh?"
"Are you going to ask me to cook again?"
"Yes."
"Then shut up before I demote you."
"Aaaw!"
--
"Taichou?"
"What now?"
"Can I order us some sushi? My treat!"
"..."
"Taichou?"
"Sure."
--
"Taichou?"
They had just finished their meal. Hitsugaya was putting the final signatures on the week's paperwork, and Matsumoto was lounging on the couch as usual.
"What now, Matsumoto?"
"I'm thirsty. You control water and ice, right? Can you make me a snow cone?"
A/N: This idea got into me last night, at around one in the morning. And here it is now.
