Summary: Zane reflects on how he will eventually die regardless on whether he defeats Jesse or not. He knows he bet everything on this one duel but he wouldn't change how hard he fought for anything or anyone at all. Hints of Royalshipping/Hellshipping. Very poignant one-shot!

"If this is the last duel I ever take part in, I can guarantee that whether I win or lose, I'm going to enjoy every last move!" Zane Truesdale called out to a Yubel-possessed Jesse Anderson.

"Heh, you know what? I'm sorry! Sorry that in your last duel, your not gonna get any of the fun or the glory this time!" Jesse called, smiling evilly.

"We'll see about that, Yubel! Ready?! Cyber End Dragon, attack!"

"Not so fast! Here's my facedown trap! Now for every Crystal Beast in my grave, my Counter Gem trap card brings them back to my Spell and Trap card zone! And if that weren't enough Zane, now I'm allowed to activate my Rainbow Dark Dragon's special ability! And that means, for every Crystal Beast sent back to my graveyard, my dragon gets a thousand more attack points!" Jesse called, grinning wickedly.

Dark Dragon roared as his attack surged to 9000.

Zane growled to himself. 'Alexis, I don't know if you can hear me, but before I die, I want to tell you…that I care very much about you. I wish I'd been there to protect you from being sent to the stars…but at least, once I die…I'll be there with you always…' Zane thought to himself as Cyber End Dragon returned to his side with 16,000 attack points.

"What happened?! And why does his dragon have 16,000 attack points?!" Jesse screamed.

"I still must pay…for playing my Power Bond. Cyber End Dragon's…original attack points…now return to me as damage…and it's a lot more than this old heart of mine can handle…" Zane explained weakly as Cyber End Dragon roared one last time before leaving the field, but somehow the Machine card's emotion of sadness over Zane's coming death could be seen as Zane's life points fell from 200 to 0…

'At least now…Lexi and I can be together and I can protect her…always…" Zane thought as his Duel Energy was finally drained and he was sent to the stars…
