When Kara is caught and locked up merlin helps Mordred and they attempt to escape. But they are caught. Kara is killed and merlin and Mordred are banished, together. But with the threat of morgana looming the unlikely pair must work together to save Arthur. Will they fall in love or will Mordreds destiny stop that and ruin everything.

Basically this story is set in the episode Drawing of the Dark, it's been before this episode but this episode and the rest afterwards aren't.

so merlin helps save Kara, mordred is eternally grateful, they fall in love, magic reveal also in this story.
