I do not own anything in the world of Harry Potter.
A lone cloaked figure was walking on a empty street. Everyone on the town was fast asleep since it was 3 o'clock. Not even the street lamps were on. The only light was the few lamps or candles on people's windows. The wind blew the hood of the cloak, revealing black-haired man. He was determinately walking through the town as he had been there every year for the last 15 years. He sneered at the statue as he walked past it. He had never felt the image was appropriate. She shouldn't have to be immortalized in something so cold as stone.
He walked into a grave yard barely notizing all the candles on many graves. If he'd stopped to take a look, even he could have found the picture morbidly beautiful. Not that he would admit anything to be beautiful. But his mind was on the day 16 years ago. He couldn't remember what kind of day was it. Was it cold and rainy? Or was it sunny? Only thing he could remember was pain, both physical and mental.
He walked briskly past the graves of people he didn't care about. He only cared about one grave on these grounds. At the beginning he had stopped to look who else was there. This year he did stop at the Dumbledore graves. For some reason he had stolen seeds from Professor Sprout before apparating to Godric's Hollow. He dug into the ground gently planting the seeds, hoping that the next spring they would bloom into flowers. He could only hope he would see them the next year but something in his heart knew the chances of that happening were very slim. He rose to his feet and continued his way to the most important grave of all. There she was, the love of his life. "Oh, Lily. I hope you are happy where every you are. I hope you will not be angry at me for too long. We will meet again soon." Severus whispered as he kneeled in front of Lily Potter's gravestone. Like every year he brought cut fire lilies to her grave as they had been her favourites but this year he had brought also their bulbs. After he finished planting the lilies, he stayed kneeling on the ground. "I hope you are aware of Albus' plan for your son. I sincerely wish that your son will live a long happy life you never had. When we meet I will have to beg your forgiveness on many issues, expecially after this year is over." He could feel the water seap through his clothes and finally stood up. He couldn't afford to stay away from the school for too long fearing what the Carrows would get in their heads. Their idea of discipline nauseated him but he had to bury it down under layers of Occlumency. If he could for once catch the wrongdoers, he could assign more lenient form of detention. But there was no hope if they were caught by the Carrows. This was the only place and time, he could morn for the lost innocence in his school, he thought. He couldn't let his guard down at Hogwarts. He would be killed, if wrong person was to see his moment of weakness and then there would be no one to protect the children. 'Let this war be over soon.'
