Hearing Damage
By SMYGO4EVA
Still.
Very still.
Frozen.
Crumpled.
Beside yourself.
Feeling nothing at all.
All except the rhythms of the ground beneath you.
As you collapse.
The world around you shatters.
As it is dying.
The edge comes near.
Something gets louder.
Your head hits the hard ground.
You see spots behind your eyes as pain creeps upon you.
You hear it.
A scream.
High-pitched.
Almost an aria.
Soprano.
The voice speaks volumes.
Terror.
Agony.
Holding your head.
Covering your ears.
To drown out the wails.
Why all this pain?
Why all this suffering?
It's torment.
Torment.
Torment.
You can't take it.
You need it to stop.
You scream too.
You scream as loud as you can.
Voicing your pain.
Unleashing your agony.
Having been kept quiet for so long.
You can't bear to be silenced anymore.
You want to be heard.
You want to be seen.
You want to be acknowledged.
You don't want to be locked in.
Locked away.
Bound by what holds you back.
Fear.
Your own cowardice.
Sanguine stains paint your hands.
Reminders of what was once there.
What was once yours.
Now it is gone.
You're voiceless.
Weak.
Worthless.
Alone.
So you cry out.
A tear in the open.
Your throat aches.
You stop.
The other screaming ends abruptly.
All is silent.
Almost deafening.
You shudder.
You feel the other's presence.
Their dying presence.
Dying.
Dying?!
You feel them withering away.
Their life-force.
It pulsates weakly.
The heartbeat.
The slow heartbeats.
You can't save them.
The timbre of the ground has stopped.
The heart beats slowly.
Very slowly.
You are trapped.
You can't escape it now.
The true end has come.
You are now damned.
Insane.
Insane and damned.
You blink once.
You blink twice.
Thrice you blink.
A moment passes.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
Laughter.
You freeze up.
Twisted.
Tangled.
Haunting.
Dark.
Cruel.
Creeping.
Slick.
Deep laughter.
Ringing in your ears.
Crawling on your back.
Shivers upon the spine.
You, auburn-haired beauty.
Hazel eyes of gold.
Pure gold.
Pure as you are.
Pure of what he seeks.
The owner of such twisted thoughts.
You turn.
You see him.
Him.
HIM.
Dark purple eyes.
Beautiful demon.
His laughter rings in your ears.
You cover them.
You wish for the silence again.
The demon smiles at you.
A lovely smile.
A dawn.
Before you can escape him, he grabs you.
You feel his soft lips in a hard kiss.
All you hear is white noise.
Against all that is to come.
You screaming.
Terrified.
His laughter.
Satisfied.
Mocking.
A mix of low and high pitches.
The noises of you two.
Perturbing.
Gasping.
Struggling.
Moaning.
Your cries.
His shudders.
All that is to be.
Never truly was.
A soon as it was finished,
You fall to the ground.
He is upon you.
You hear white noise.
Again.
Vibrations beneath you.
You can't hear yourself think.
You feel his dark laughter.
Its sensations.
You hear it in the white noise.
You scream.
Scream.
Scream.
Scream.
Scream.
Slithering all around.
The snake hovers over his prey.
He has won.
The scream of another comes once again.
Itwillneverendwillit?
In and beyond the hearing damage.
