Part Six

Caine and Kemit were in the Kermit's office going through the information that the trace had gathered on the e-mail that Peter was sent, when Caine suddenly gasped. Kermit turned to him and saw that his face was pale and that both of his hands where clenched in anger.
"Caine, what is it?"
"Peter has been injured very badly. I feel his pain."
"Those..... When I find them I'll kill them with my bare hands. No one does this to one of my friends."
Caine turned to Kermit and saw the anger on his face. He knew how Kermit felt, but those feelings were not going to help his son. He let them go and concentrated on Peter. Now, he couldn't sense anything. Peter's essence was still lost to him. This could only mean that Peter was dead or unconscious. Caine prayed it was the latter.
"Kermit, have you found anything yet?" asked Caine.
"Not yet. Can you sense Peter still?"
"No, he is lost to me."
Kermit felt his heart fill with dread at Caine's words. He hoped that Caine ment that Peter was alive, and not dead. "He is dead??"
"No, he is alive."
"Well, you let me know as soon as you get anything from him."
Peter awoke in the same spot that they had left him when they had beat him. He tried to sit up, but found that the slightest movement sent fire through his whole body. It hurt to breathe, it hurt to even be awake. But Peter refused to slip back into darkness. He calmed himself and tried, once again, to contact his father.
"Pop?" He waited, but felt nothing. He tried again. "Pop?"
"Peter," his father's vioce whispered in his mind. Peter sighed with relief.
"I need your help Pop. These guys are going to kill me."
"Do you know who is doing this to you my son?"
"The guy's name is LeRoy Travis." Peter felt his strength start to give way. He knew that he couldn't hold the link for much longer. "Pop, please hurry. I don't know how much longer I can hold out." With that he broke the connection and then fell back into darkness.
"..much longer I can hold out." Caine felt the connection break. He turned to Kermit. "The man's name is LeRoy Travis. We must hurry and find Peter. He is growing weaker by the minute. He has been severly injured.. If we don't hurry, Travis will kill Peter."
