There is a shadow.
It flies across the room silently; one would sense it, see it, but not hear it. It is an empty theater, a movie theater. The screen is blank. The aisles are clean. The renovations have been installed. It is only a matter of time now.
People are clamoring outside, waiting to get in. The shadow inside the theater smiles to himself; he is amazed at how far he has gotten. He sets up the projector. He puts on a blank reel. And he opens the closet, which is full of rented DVDs.
Not much people pay attention to that little square window above them, in the back wall, when they're seeing a movie. But a lot goes on up there. What goes on up there affects what you see across from you.
The doors open.
