The Last Goodbye

As I say goodbye, my Love,

I beg you not to cry,

We will see each other again,

But I don't know where,

And I'm not sure when,

There are times that I ask myself why?

Did it have to be me?

Why, have I been chosen to die,

I see the tears streaming down your face,

But there is nothing that I can do,

I feel so helpless now,

Laying here barely alive,

I don't want to leave you here alone,

Hold you close and never let go,

I am so afraid now,

I can feel it getting closer,

Hug me one last time,

As you hold me I begin to cry,

"Please don't leave me" you sob through your hands,

I say that I have no choice,

But to lay here and die,

So this is my last goodbye,

My love,

Hold my hand as I close my eyes,

I will miss you my love,

Goodbye.
