A/N: as the end of Harry Potter is upon us, or more so the end of the awful film adaptations, in little under an hour, I thought it apt to add a little one-shot to my fic's . So as a thank you to all that have added me to their favourites, followed me, or have read my other fics and reviewed or not as the case may be this one is for you.
As the curtain came down on the stage the cast of the play jumped up and down enthusiastically. The opening night had been a success. Jean Granger removed herself from her classmates and made her way to the stage door where she knew her mother would be entering any second.
Before Hermione had even scoped the room to find her daughter she was on the ground. Jean had taken a flying leap at her mother and knocked her clean off her feat.
"Mummy, mummy… What'd yah think? Was it as good as you thought it would be. Was I good. Don't you think I do a really good impression of you?" Jean was throwing questions at the stunned witch faster that she could think of an answer.
"Calm down honey. It was really good. You were really, really, good." The smile that spread across her daughters face was identical to that of her partner. Her heart melted at the sight. The young witch had taken equal traits from both her parents, something which neither of them particularly enjoyed. Seeing themselves in the excitable youngster was a constant source of teasing.
"Oh you'll never guess what I found Jean doing this morning. Looking in the mirror and trying to straighten that hair of hers. She looked just like you sweet heart."
Jolted from her thoughts by her daughter pulling her from the ground and doing a perfect impression of herself at the same time "Now Ronald really, do I have to explain everything for you?"
"Better not let Uncle Ron hear you saying that," She pointed to the door where Ron and Harry were just entering the room.
"Better not let me hear what?" Ron said as he lifted Jean up into a hug.
"I was just doing an impression of Mummy. She was really mean to you at school you know."
"Yeh I know she was." Ron shot a smirk in Hermione's direction.
"Oh Ron, please don't encourage her." Hermione hated being reminded of those days.
"She knows we don't mean most of it, right?"
"Oh but she was rather mean to you at school Mr. Weasley."
No one had noticed Minerva walking over to them from the other side of the stage. Yet as they did Hermione slipped her hand in to that of her wife and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Fantastic play my love."
Returning the kiss Minerva blushed. It had been 19 years since the battle of Hogwarts but she still felt odd about showing publicly her feelings for her younger wife. "You really think so?"
"Of course I do. It was true to the story. Nothing like what Rita Skeeter decided to sell to that big American film company. Thinking she knew what had went on. Really why would they miss out so much of a seven year journey and call it the story of Harry Potter. Really who does she think she is? She wasn't even there. The play was a fantastically accurate depiction of the battle that took place here and what a better way to see of the graduates this year. Those who have not known and will never know the world with the threat of Voldemort hanging over their heads."
A/N2: yeha I know it sucks but it's a little snippet of life with the McGonagall's. And now it's off to be disappointed by the final instalment of Harry Potter in 3D. needless to say it will be nothing like the books and won't have any MM/HG but I think I'll be able to watch most of it. Might walk out before the epilogue though :OD.
