Life likes to pull jokes on us. If you haven't noticed that your either oblivious, clueless, or too naive. I like to think of it as a sort of irony that Life can pull out of its hat. I mean look at me. I whole-heartedly believed that the only thing funny in life was the fact that others thought it was funny. I believed in nothing, I was what you would call an atheist. Yet I was deathly afraid of ghosts, whether it be real, imaginary, horror character, or just the idea.
But here I am now, a full time ghost in the ghost zone that believes in not only God but Life as well. I guess that's what happens though when you die prematurely. Murder sucks.
Really though this story isn't about me. No, it's about two boys: Danny and Dash. Danny was a halfa that lived with ghost hunting parents. Dash was a football player that lived with the biggest nerds, which just happened to be his parents. Dash was close to failing all his classes even though he knew all the answers. Danny just happened to be failing too, although his reasons were more towards his extra curricular activity. Dash beat Danny up, even though the exact opposite could easily happen.
Life, I guess, just likes to be funny that way. How did I know these two? I was in all of there classes since pre-k. Yeah, I was quite the wallflower. I was nothing special and unsurprisingly everyone else agreed. I had brown hair, brown eyes, and brown skin. I wore gray sweats and kept my head down in a book.
Now here is really where I come in. I happen to see love and am able to push that feeling until it's overwhelming. I watched these two from a safe distance. Dash was slamming Danny against a tree on the park. All that hot fury was a lie to keep his feelings hidden. Danny didn't bother to hide his feelings. Instead he overdramatized them into the land of sarcastic wit. They were both close to boiling over. Neither could stand the others touch, but separation seemed worse.
I smirked as I flew in closer. Danny's eyes widened as his ghost sense went off. To quickly though I flipped the switch. SMACK! Danny pressed is lips into Dash's. The bullied in love with the bully and the love equally returned. A giggle escaped my mouth as I flew over to my favorite obsession. Love I guess was just funny that way.
I stare down and watch a technology nerd as he twists his cap out of his eyes. He stares at a picture of a girl standing next to him in a blue sundress. He sighs as he turns the light out. Before my death someone finally saw me for who I was. My dad had killed me the same night that picture was taken. He had thought he was killing my mom. Tucker found out the next day when I didn't show up for our date. I really do miss him; I still want to go on that first date. Unfortunately I'm a full ghost and Death likes to be funny that way. Oh, by the way, my name is Hope.
UN: I found this in a old notebook of mine so I decided to upload it.
