RESPITE

Dean growled, grumbled, and slowly rolled over before pushing himself upward to rest against the headboard. Shooting a glare at his far-too-chipper younger brother, he muttered, "What're you so damn happy about?"
Sam stopped mid-whistle and finished pulling his t-shirt over his head. He shrugged. "I dunno." He pointed at the window. "It's Spring. It's sunny—kinda warm outside." Sam grinned sheepishly, raised one shoulder in another half-shrug. "I heard the birds singing this morning."
Dean rolled his eyes. "Aaaand girly Sammy makes a triumphant return."
Sam's expression grew serious. "It—it's just nice to…uh…have some peace and quiet again."
