A/N: Yay! This one's on time this week and it's something a little different. Hope you enjoy.
There had always been that certain spring in Dean's step, even when the going got too tough, when Sam left him for college and Dad pretty much ditched him upon realizing he could look after himself.
It remained when Sam had died and Dean returned forever scarred by hell's embrace, the second Sam opened Lucifer's cage, unleashing hell upon them and the world. Even upon realizing his brother's soul was missing it wouldn't leave.
After all these years it stuck with him, probably because of Sam always coming back to him, maybe because giving up hope couldn't snuff that out.
