PROLOGUE:

There were few who knew the man well enough to be called a servant and fewer still who knew the true character behind his mask. He put on for the world to see, this very same mask, which beamed down at the common folk from life's stage. He had slipped into his role of a villain marvelously and the bloody idiots danced around his fingers licking the soles of his boot. Even then, it was still just a mask. He had undoubtedly done horrific things, killed, tortured, maimed, and orphaned people. Nevertheless, he had a reason to manipulate the world in such a way, a reason that he had foreseen for a long time but had only just started be realized.

Now another potential obstacle threatened to throw a wrench into his plans. It was to rid the world of this obstacle that brought him to Godric's hollow tonight. The prophecy mustn't be fulfilled the two children, one of which was prophesized to kill him but both plausible choices for the position of his end bringer, must die. He would target the Potters while one of his servants would take out the Longbottoms. His plan was flawless and he was the second most powerful wizard England had seen since Merlin himself.

He shook himself out of his thoughts as he arrived in Godric's hollow. He had opted to fly there to give his opponent less time to prepare than they would if they had heard his apparition outside of town. He soon arrived at the front door of his enemies, he thought about knocking but realized that it would be pointless as no one who does not know about the secret would not be able to find the house, they would know something was wrong.

There was a simple locking charm on the door, easy enough to take care of. He walked into the house and immediately explosions, gunfire, and spell fire started to fill the home. There were a couple of green flashes and everything fell silent.

Sarah Shadowseer was tired. She had never imagined how difficult it was to take care of an eight-month-old child. That was the reason why she had volunteered to take care of her niece after her father went missing. She thought she would be doing her dead sister a favor but it felt akin to doing her sister's chores.

"Great" she said to herself "now I'm thinking like a child again." The plan that she and her brother in law had made was for his daughter to go to durmstrang institute under the name Isabel Shadowseer but they were in England and Sarah was not sure she had enough money to send Isabel over to Germany and still pay tuition.

That meant she would have to go to Hogwarts. Sarah did not like that idea; Isabel would have to suffer through stupid house rivalries and incompetent teachers for seven years unless her father reappeared. He was the one who was going to be paying for her education but now that he was gone, she could not get access to the money needed.

However, that was an issue for another time; Isabel had started to cry again and was not going to stop until she had been flown on a carpet for e few hours. "I guess little Izzy considers her own needs more important than the law. Like father like daughter." Sarah sighed as she got the carpet ready. It was going to be a long night.
