A half-moon's light glittered on smooth rocks in a large clearing, movement wasn't far off; but for now the rocks were bare, basking in the bluish white glow. The air was still, and peaceful to the scent of a faraway mouse den. The shadows of the trees broke slightly with the swaying branches.

Then, as if on cue, several cats broke through the foliage. Tackling the opposite side's and the clearing was filled with screeching and fighting cats.

In the midst of it all, a massive dark brown tabby pinned down a reddish brown tom. "Oakheart, what are you doing," he growled menacingly, "the sunning rocks belong to ThunderClan!"

The reddish brown tom smirked, his clear amber eyes stared the dark brown tabby right in his dark amber. "After tonight Tigerclaw, this will just be another RiverClan hunting grounds." He meowed.

The dark brown tabby noticed more RiverClan cats emerging from the nearby river, and then joined the fight. "You may swim like fish, but that doesn't give you right to our territory!"

A she-cat's yowl caught the dark brown tabby's attention, and he was drawn to a dusky brown she-cat who was shrinking away from a RiverClan cat whose chin still dripped from the river. In an instant he was off Oakheart, and shoved the RiverClan cat away while the tom slashed his muzzle drawing blood, but Tigerclaw did not seem to notice. "Run Mousefur, get out of here!" he ordered.

The she-cat stepped back, trying to decide whether or not she should help Tigerclaw who was struggling a little, but then she leapt away from the scene.

Tigerclaw finally scared off the RiverClan cat, which had a bluish gray pelt. And headed straight towards another; but a tortoiseshell tom stepped in his way. "Go Tigerclaw, this battle is lost!" he meowed.

"Never Redtail, we shouldn't give up!" Tigerclaw responded.

The tom flicked his distinguishable red tail. "ThunderClan will honor your bravery Tigerclaw, but we cannot risk losing more warriors. We will get another chance to reclaim Sunning rocks."

Tigerclaw lashed his tail, but Redtail had already leapt onto a rock. "Retreat, ThunderClan! Retreat!"

The ThunderClan cats poked up their ears, but quickly began running off towards their side of the clearing. Tigerclaw reluctantly followed, pressing his ears to his head to drown out the victory yowls from the RiverClan cats.

A gray she-cat sat staring out towards far end of the forest, her fur blowing slightly in the wind. And her fur was shining in the moonlight. Then she turned towards a tortoiseshell she-cat. "How is Mousefur?" she asked.

"Injured, but she is young; she will be fine." The other she-cat responded.

The gray she-cat sighed with relief. "StarClan has blessed us with you, Spottedleaf, as wonderful medicine cat." she praised.

The tortoiseshell she-cat blushed a little, and turned her head. "Don't, please, there were far better Medicine cats before me Bluestar." She meowed waving a paw.

She then sat down beside the blue gray she-cat. "I wish I could say we've been blessed with warriors, our clan is getting small." The gray she-cat commented. "Has StarClan spoken to you as of recently?"

Spottedleaf shook her head. "Not since the last prophecy." She responded.

Bluestar stared at her paws. "That is fine, but what about the growing threat of ShadowClan, surely starclan would've noticed by now."

Spottedleaf stared up at the night sky, going silent, before shaking slightly; and then going still. "Starclan has spoken at last." She meowed

Bluestar stared at her sideways. "What did they say?" she asked.

"A Raven calls, it's warning cry will save your clan."

Bluestar turned her head to the skies. "A Raven calls, how can a bird save our clan."

"I am unsure, but starclan should soon make it clear." Spottedleaf responded.

"Then we shall listen for its cry." Bluestar meowed, a little light heartedly.

But not far, the looming shape of Tigerclaw was listening.
