Fayry-go-round

"Waah, Kuro-pon is scary!"

Kurogane twitched. That was it. The mage was really going to regret it this time.

With an angry growl he lunged at the mage, only to miss him as the smaller man lightly stepped to the side, neatly avoiding his rage. This, of course, had no effect aside from the fact he made another attack towards the mage. The idiot was practically begging for it.

The thought of Fay begging distracted Kurogane long enough for the blonde to again step out of his way. The idiotic meat bun apparently decided to join the fun, too, as the next thing he knew the creature was sitting on his head, holding onto his hair and squealing in joy whenever he tried to bat it away.

"Kuro-ru! Over here!" shouted Fay. Now, that proved it. The blonde wanted to die.

With another loud growl he started to chase the mage, trying his best to ignore the white creature still clinging to his hair. Sakura and Syaoran were both looking from the side, too used to these scenes to be even surprised.

The mage wasn't moving quite as fast as usually, though, Kurogane noticed. He managed to land a hit on the idiot much faster than usually. In fact, he had to slightly pull back so as not to cause any serious harm to the blonde bastard.

"Hyuuu, Kuro-rin got me," Fay said happily, sitting on the ground as though nothing had happened. "Must be because I'm so tired!"

"Why are you tired, Fay-san?" asked Sakura worriedly. She shouldn't have been, really. It wasn't like anything could truly hurt the mage badly enough for him to actually suffer. And if something tried, Kurogane would prevent it. No way was anybody going to hurt the people he was travelling with, even if they were annoying as hell.

"Because Kuro-pi kept me up all night!" the mage replied cheerfully.

...Well, nobody would hurt them if they didn't hurry the hell up to reach Fay before Kurogane.

Their chase started again, rather unexpectedly. The mage sure didn't seem tired as he easily leapt over the furniture in his mission to avoid the ninja's rage. He probably had just faked his earlier slowness, too. The bastard.

Of course, running around in a not-so-big house is not always the wisest course of action available. Somehow – Kurogane still couldn't understand how; nobody with Fay's experience should have made such a mistake – the mage tripped over something, arms flailing as he fell down.

One of the pale hands landed right in the lit fireplace.

All his annoyance disappearing in a flash, Kurogane reached the mage's side with two big steps. Drawing the man so far from the fireplace that he couldn't fall in again, he then started to examine the burned hand.

"You idiot," he huffed, accepting the bowl of cold water a very worried Sakura carried to them. "You're going to get yourself killed with this rate."

"No I'm not!" replied Fay happily, his smile brighter again now that his wounded hand was in the cold water. His smile had actually faltered for a while at the burn though never disappeared entirely. "I'm sure Kuro-tan won't let me get killed!"

"Damn right," muttered Kurogane. "Nobody's going to kill you before I get the chance myself."

"Awww, Kuro-mu is so nice!" chirped Fay, blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "I must tell everyone how nice a man he is!"

Kurogane twitched. That was it. The mage was really going to regret it this time.
