Never Changed

It had never changed. In the years since the fall of Uru'Baen, it had still had the same nagging feeling. Something wanted her to go. To try what had been tried before.

All those chances she had had. If she had just told him once, just once, maybe things could have been different. But, no, she had to reject him, even though he still felt for her. And now the longing grew.

As the years pass, they seem no longer than days. For if one must wait, one can wait, if only for the hope of love.

Still she waits, on the edge of the water, to see his face again.

Still he waits, for the day that she will come to him again.

And if they only acted on this chance, the waiting would have never been stretched.

The longing that turns our hearts.

The pain that turns us.

And they still have never changed.
