Carlisle
X
Carlisle's breath was heavy, and sounded pained. Though he realized with a slight start that the air filtered into his lungs was not needed. Not in the least.
He felt almost hollow now, a dense mass of rock. His insides were cold, and silent. Comprehension dawned on him.
He thought that maybe he'd been dreaming before, or that he'd died and been sent to hell. That tortuously slow burning, that agonizing torching of his insides could have very well have been hell. His thoughts ran at speeds that he could hardly comprehend, and it frightened him.
With an undeniable burn sticking to the back of his throat, he clung to the stone wall of the church. His father's church.
He was in there. He was listening to reports, people speaking about where the pastor's son might just be. Carlisle gripped the wall when one suggested that he'd been taken by the vampires.
The stone under his hand crumbled and he gasped, shocked. His cold, pale white skin was as hard as stone, no stronger, it could turn stone to dust. His mouth fell open and he stared frightened at his open palm.
"Oh God, forgive me," he felt venom collect in his mouth and the most delicious scent filled his entire being. His head snapped up and his crimson eyes searched frantically for the source of the devilishly delicious scent.
He caught sight of his father walking down the steps of the church, alone. He felt his muscles grown taunt, his eyes narrow, and his senses hone in to the sharpest of degrees. His entire self was focused now on his father.
But he wasn't father now, now he was helpless prey. And Carlisle was the ravenous predator.
More stone crumbled under his fists, he hadn't realized he was crouched low against the wall and gripping the side of it preparing to pounce, until he had left a hole in the church wall.
Horror, and grief stricken Carlisle used all the power he had to force himself away from his father. He was a disgusting creature now, an abomination, and he was damned to hell for the life he now lived. He knew though that he couldn't stay here, in this world endangering every life he came upon.
He couldn't harm anyone, he would save them all from himself. He reached the tallest tower in London in only seconds, and looking down at the empty dark streets illuminated by the stars, moon, and dim street lights.
And what he saw was the human's only salvation.
His death.

A/N: This is just a cool little idea I had. I absolutely love Carlisle, he's one of my favorite characters and I wanted to explore his beginning a little but. The ending probably sucks, but I just sort of wanted to end it this way. I'm contemplating writing more, but I'm not sure if I will. I suppose I will if you guys want me to, though.
I hope you decide to review!
