A/N: So this is just an experiment, I am just now totally obsessed with How to train your dragon, sure I saw it in theaters 2 years ago, and watched the movie since then but now with the new show, I'm obsessed all over again, so let me know if its good or if it totally sucks
Astrid hadn't intended to fall in love with Hiccup. Truth be told she hadn't intended to fall in love at all, but especially not with Hiccup. The kid couldn't swing an axe to save his life, or so she thought.
Astrid had no plans for love, not even with Snotlout who was constantly hitting on her. Astrid's dream was much bigger than that, she dreamed of being the best dragon slayer on the entire island. And she was pretty good so long as Hiccup didn't get in her way.
But that all changed the day she decided to follow him and discovered he had been learning the secrets of the dragons, particularly the Night Fury, a dragon so dangerous and mysterious no Viking had ever lived to tell about fighting it.
Long story short, Hiccup was discovered to be keeping a dragon as a pet, it led to the Vikings using Toothless to discover the dragons' nest and Toothless and Hiccup saving the day, albeit with Hiccup losing his left foot.
After all that things had changed quite a bit. Dragons were no longer feared on Berk, in fact many people kept them as pets, it was a welcome change not having to live in fear anymore. But something else had changed, Hiccup was no longer the loser in town he once was, in fact he was quite popular.
Hiccup was now revered as a dragon trainer; it was no small feat being the first Viking to learn the way of the animals. Whereas other Vikings would have taken the first chance they had to kill a downed Night Fury, not Hiccup though, he felt compassion for the beast.
Astrid had come to admire that about Hiccup, he wasn't like the other boys on the island, at first she hated him for that, but there was a new feeling inside her. She couldn't believe she was actually falling for him. Never in a million years would she ever think she'd have a crush on him of all people.
She didn't think her little crush was all that one sided either; he didn't exactly flinch when she kissed him those two times.
She enjoyed the new life with the dragons. She had a new best friend with Stormfly, if was the first pet she ever had, aside from the farm animals. However she felt as if she were missing something. She missed the excitement and the action, maybe she could get into Dragon training, at least it would give her an excuse to hang out with Hiccup.
She couldn't believe she had even thought that, something must be seriously wrong with her.
