A/N: This is just another fluffly little oneshot of mine, completely D/L. Big Thanks to Dee (LaiksMarei) for the beta!

Disclaimer: I own nothing but this storyline.

Danny looked up from his microscope and gave a sniff. There's that smell again. It was the only smell he had ever come across that lifted his spirits with the tiniest whiff and made him grin like an idiotic schoolboy; the one scent in the world he wished he could bottle and keep in his pocket. He hadn't a hope of describing the aroma and doing it any justice. It could not be likened to the names of any fruits or plants or really any substance that he knew the name or smell of really. No, this wonderful scent could only be described one way, only one name could capture it in essence and no other smell could ever be so wonderful to him

His breath hitched within his throat as she gently placed her hand on the small of his back and stood next to him. She smiled up at him and once again, he found himself grinning at her like a fool. God, she smells divine.

"Got anything good there, Messer?"

"Not really," he said, putting the slide he had been examining off to one side. She slid her arms around his waist, moving closer to his side. "Whoa there, Montana!"

"What?" she said innocently, her lips moving ever so close to his ear.

"We are in the lab!" he said incredulously, looking around their deserted workplace.

"It is eleven at night, hardly anyone is here," she replied. She turned him around to face her completely, hugging him close. She breathed in against his neck. "God you smell good!"

"What?" he smiled despite himself. "I have been here for nigh on fourteen hours; I can't imagine I smell nice at all."

She mumbled something incoherent to him then said, "There are no words for it," she stated, taking another deep whiff of his neck. "It's just…quintessential Danny Messer," she sighed happily.

"Really?" he chuckled to himself. He studied her for a moment then inhaled deeply, mimicking her earlier actions, "You smell pretty good yourself."

She pulled away from him to look at his face. "You look tired. I think it is almost quitting time, yeah cowboy?"

Her hand moved from his waist to his hand, entwining his fingers with hers as she began to lead him from the lab. In the doorway he stopped and pulled her to him, her body flush to his; he kissed her lightly on the lips.

"I love you Lindsay Monroe," he murmured.

"That's Lindsay Messer now, thank you very much!" she huffed quietly, kissing him again before nibbling on his lower lip. "Come on, my love, we have a baby to get home to."

Danny feigned complacency and gave an over exaggerated sigh, "Yes ma'am."

It was as he lay in bed an hour later that night, his wife sleeping soundly in his arms that he breathed in as deep as he could, revelling in the amazing scent of Lindsay, that he realised there really was no smell like it for him anywhere else in the world. She smelled like home. Soon enough, he fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.
