Nearly forty eight hours had passed since Jill Valentine had first encountered Nemesis.

She was cramped behind a filthy trash dumpster, her stomach gnawing with hunger, and her throat parched from days without water. There was a deep gash across her stomach, where Nemesis had brutally slashed her whilst she was trying to escape his grasp of death. Her gun was laying in her hand, trembling along with her wreck of a body; she knew that she wouldn't be safe forever. The sound of rotten feet scraping across the road brought only more anxiety for the young woman.

She was all alone now; Nemesis had murdered every living human being she had seen, leaving behind a horrible trail of tyranny in his wake. Carlos had disappeared long ago, back by the desolate city hall.
Jill was terribly exhausted; her eyelids were heavy and her body was weary, aching for sleep. She was losing the ability to think properly, and she had no idea what was going to become of her. She felt her stomach give a rumble and sighed, shifting her crouched position so that she was leaning against the dumpster with her back to it. Her heart was aching for Chris...if only he were here. Her partner...her lover...

She was barely recognizable, her once chocolate brown locks now bloodied and tangled. Her blue shirt was saturated with her own blood, and her brown boots that she had paid so much for were now torn apart, barely clinging to her feet. Although it was nearly 80 degrees out, Jill was shivering. She weakly pulled her dirtied sweatshirt from her waist and slipped it on, watching the the blood from her shirt seep through.

"S.T.A.R.S"

The rough and inhuman voice rung throughout Jill's ears.

He found me...

She started to lose hope as she heard his rumbling footsteps approach, and a single tear shed her eye. Trembling, she grasped her gun tighter. All she had left were 15 bullets. It wasn't nearly enough to take down a beast his size.

She felt a cold hand on her leg and screamed as she realized that it was a zombie, one eyeball falling out of its decaying socket and flesh falling off of its face. Its mouth was pulled into an awful smile with most of its teeth missing. The ones that remained were stained crimson, and blood was pouring out of its mouth. Jill kicked frantically, shaking the creature off of her, watching it gurgle as it flew backwards. She then felt something grab her shoulder. She fell onto her side and looked up to see another zombie looming above her, the blood from its mouth dripping onto her face. She grabbed his arms in an attempt to throw him off of her, but the flesh from his arm fell right off, onto her torso. Jill let go of him in surprise, letting him fall onto her. She let out a short scream before throwing the rotten lumps of skin off of her and kicking the zombie in the head. She forced herself up, and looked around. An endless horde of zombies blocked the road, arms outstretched, for as far as she could see. Nemesis stood in the middle of them, and suddenly, she locked eyes with the beast.

As he charged towards her, she knew she was out of luck. There was nothing else she could do. She was going to die.

For a split second, she imagined herself dying in the hands of the zombies- her limp, lifeless body being torn apart, her flesh being pulled off until she was just a pile of blood and bones...

She shuddered at the thought, not wanting to die in such a gruesome way.

She slowly loaded her gun, but instead of pointing it towards the zombies, she raised it to her own head. The tears were now streaming down her cheeks.

"Goodbye. Chris...I'm so sorry..."

And with those words, she timidly fingered the trigger for a second, before pulling it.

Then all was black.
