The Taming of the Manes
"So, you as well, Saionji?" Touga Kiryuu looked upon his lesser associate, the one he'd kept around because of amusement and not the least owning to any sort of sentiment.
"To think, that the high and mighty Touga has been brought down low with me." Saionji moved to flick the hair out of his face, then his face turned dark and bitter, for the long flowing locks he'd grown accustomed to were not there; his hair had been sheared, sliced away almost to his scalp in a grotesquely amateur crew cut. And, as Saionji had insinuated, Touga's once glorious hair had also been brought to a similarly ignominious state. "Do you have any idea who'd do this to us?"
"Far too many I'm afraid; we were surely targeted by some petty and jealous boy, angry about us stealing a girl from them."
"Miki." Saionji scowled. "I knew that little twerp couldn't be trusted, that sickening innocent act of his was just a ruse to put us of our guard until this time; with my hair like this, there's nothing to stop him from taking Anthy from me!"
Touga laughed, proof that even in a situation like this Saionji could amuse him. "Nonsense; that simple boy could never do anything so underhanded as this, not without my guidance on the matter."
"And you're sure you didn't guide him to do this?"
"Absolutely not." Touga was not the least bit cross with Saionji. "We are simply going to have to interrogate the male half of Ohtori academy until we find the guilty party; now come my lackey, the game is afoot!" Saionji grumbled but dutifully followed.
"Miki, just what are you smiling about?" Juri asked the secretary of the Student Council, leaning forward on the table.
"Hmm? Oh, nothing Miss Juri, I was just remembering a silly childhood joke, nothing more." He smiled to himself, wondered how Miss Juri would react if Saionji were to make certain accusations against him in her presence.
"I bet you must have been so adorable as a child...though not as adorable as my beloved Big Brother of course!" Nanami added the last in a defensive huff.
"Yes, of course Miss Nanami." Miki wondered just how Nanami would react when she got wind of certain developments involving her dear Touga.
Then Miki heard the Student Council elevator ding, signaling the arrival of the president and vice president. He clicked his stopwatch and prepared himself to behold his handiwork.
