Annabeth adjusted the grip on her knife, glancing over the bluff at the hellhounds on the plains before us and cursed in Ancient Greek.

"There's a lot out there, Percy." she said to me. I could tell she was counting them in her mind, by the way her lips moved.

"Yeah," I said, distracted by her lips for a moment. I snapped myself out of it, Focus, man!

She raised an eyebrow at me, and I had to force down a blush. "I was hoping for a bit more help in regards to the strategy, but I suppose that will do," she said.

"Would 'kill all of them, don't get killed' count as a strategy?"

"Only in the loosest of terms, Seaweed brain," Annabeth giggled, despite the serious situation.

I shrugged, a smile trying to break it's way onto my face. "It's worked so far."

And with that I vaulted over the bluff, uncapping Riptide.

Man, it was great to be questing with your girlfriend.
