To be a Hastings

Hi, my name's Spencer Hastings.

Okay, let me tell you, being a Hastings is never really easy. If you wanna be a true Hastings you need to work hard against whatever pain, sadness and evil there will be blocking your path in life. Since childhood you'll have tons of pressure on you to be more or less the best at whatever you decide to do.

As a Hastings people will expect you to be smart, mature, serious and hard-working all the time. Members of the Hastings-family usually don't show their weak or soft side in public, though over the years I've learned the hard way that sometimes you just need to be casual and let your hair down, so to speak, have some good old fun and simply relax.

Sometimes a Hastings may seem, at least on the surface, cold super-strict, uptight and emotionless, but we are not. I know for sure that I'm not like that.

Don't get me wrong. I'm proud of my family-line and I love being a pure-blood member of the glory Hastings-family. It's just that some of the people in my family aka my sister Melissa, clearly overdo this whole thing about being a typical Hastings.

I've seen people being jealous of me for being who I am. They think that being a Hastings is all wealth and power. And that's not true. Most of us have actually worked our ass off to get what we have.

Paige used to dislike me a bit for being a Hastings back before she and Emily started dating.

There's also a bit of rivalry between the Hastings-family and the Khan-family, the other high-profile family in Rosewood. Me, I just ignore Noel and all the other members of the damn Khan-line.

Also there's a lot of rivalry within my family as well. You probably know that Melissa and I have never seen things on an equal level and I also don't like my cousin Kate who lives in a small town not far from Miami. She's such an egocentric rude sassy bitch. Perhaps even worse than Melissa, if that's possible.

I of course like some members of my family as well, such as my mom and my cousin Sarah who lives in France since 4 years back.

Life has been far from easy for me. These days it's good though. I'm married to Toby, the love of my life and we have 2 amazing daughters together. Emma who's 12 and Caitlin who's 6. Both are very good girls and look very much like me aside from their eyes which are exactly like Toby's.

Maybe I should reveal a secret...okay. Another little sweet baby girl or boy will be born about 5 months from now. I'm excited.

If our third kid is a girl too, Toby suggested the name Anastasia. If it's a boy I wanna name him Michael.

Hmmm, I wonder how much Hastings there will be in my 3 kids when they get older...?

Anyways, to be a Hastings is sometimes a pain in the ass, but I will always be a proud Hastings, not matter what.

No one can make me wish I wasn't a Hastings...not Noel Khan, not Paige, not Melissa or anyone else out there.

Okay. I have nothing more of value to say at the time.

Bye!
