Why did Gabi not know that she wasn't poisonous? I thought about this after I re-saw the scene where Gabi learns the truth about herself. This is just a short explanation story about Gabi, her childhood, her parents, how she got onto the glass bottle, and etc. I also thought this, if her parents lied to or mislead her about being poisonous, I guess they may have warped her mind about other things too, and maybe that's what caused her to fall in love with Nigel. Meh, I'm not sure.

I do not own the movie Rio 2 or any of its content. It all belongs to its respectful owners. I don't own the cover image either.

Enjoy the story!

"That frog is not poisonous."

Those words shocked her very soul. Of course she was poisonous! All her life, everyone had said she was poisonous. Her parents said she was poisonous. She was a poisonous frog and that was that.

"It's a very common mistake, but she's a harmless pseudo-dendrobates. The pink spots are how you could tell."

It was unbelievable. So... all this time, she had been so wrong about herself? She had been mislead by the facts and accusations all this time?

"But my parents always told me I was poisonous and shouldn't touch anyone."

It was certainly the truth. Her parents had brought her and her siblings food in the bromeliad plant where they were raised in, but they kept each of them in separate leaves and they avoided contact with one another. Her parents were usually not always there. Mainly they would be off doing some other things, leaving she and her siblings to entertain themselves, by themselves, separated from each other in the different parts of the plant. It was on one of their outings that they were unattended, and almost adults, when humans had found them, taken her away from them, stuck her in a glass bottle and that is when she had met Charlie, and more importantly, Nigel. But now she was being told she was being lied to for all this time... about her entire worldview about herself.

"Meh, you just have really mean parents."

And just like that, she felt rather sheepish for not having any knowledge beforehand of her true, non-poisonous nature. Was she mad at her parents for not knowing or just not telling her the truth about herself? A bit. But hey, if she had never believed that she was poisonous in the first place, then she never would had been exploited by Nigel, the love of her life, in his plan and got to go along with him and also spend quality time with him.

Which reminded her, now that she was now deemed non-poisonous, now they could finally be together. And the first thing they were going to do together... honeymoon in Rio!

Short, I know, but I wasn't going to do a full blown explanation and leave you readers bored before you even finished this. This was my first, non multi-chapter story for Rio, and I wanted to do a tertiary character, since they tend to get less attention than the main and secondary characters.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my story, I'd appreciate it if you reviewed, they are cherished and loved. Thanks for reading my story. Sincerely, v.t.7
