Summary: There is being 'close' and then there's being 'too close.' Welcome to the Comic Convention. A drabble we can all relate to.
Disclaimer: Ha. You think I actually own Violet Parr and Buddy Pine? Pshaw. Funny. Syndrome wouldn't allow it.

"Get me. Freaking. Out of here. Now."
The words were terse, short, and gasping for breath. And as Violet was surrounded by what seemed like billions of screaming, squealing fangirls and boys, the stench of 'Con,' permeating the meager air, she felt she was close to hyperventilation.
Or killing someone.
Speaking of which…
Syndrome only laughed, head and shoulders towering above the crowd as he walked in his civilian clothes for once, rather than the typical spandex. But there seemed to be more than enough of it milling around to make up for the lack.
"What? Not up for the Geek crowd, or is it the sudden excess of clones?"
"Neither," the Super bit out shortly, "it's the lack of deodorant and that stupid guy keeps hugging me!"
An outright guffaw boomed across the wide expanse of videogame, Anime, and Gothic Lolita Cosplayers. So much that the sound within the immediate area dimmed for half a second afterward, before returning to its normal, ear-piercing decibel.
Blessed silence, before the mob continued its harpy-like screeches.
And there were those red suits. So many red suits.
Violet winced every time she saw one of them, a silent reminder of all that she had given up. And an explanation for why she had such a hard time dealing with fans.
Invisigirl Cosplayers.
They were short. They were tall. A few were disturbingly familiar echoes of her mirror, but all bore long black hair and skintight suits burned with the 'i' logo.

Wrote this while I was actually at SLC's Anime Banzai. I'm pretty good with people and groups and even fangirls/boys. But there's a point in a Convention where you have to sit down and find some peace before you go insane. Especially when you're dressed up as Toph BeiFong from Avatar: The Last Airbender and you have a right to stomp around and act angry. Heck yes. –grins-
Social Note:
Conventions = Known for being fun, but also hot and stinky due to the press of people. Plus a lot of fans tend to either be teenagers or have non-existent hygiene habits. Or both. Having a Con-Stalker is also not unheard of and can be friendly, like a running joke. Or creepy. It depends on the Convention, and who the stalker is.
Costume + Play = Cosplay = Dress up like a character you like, basically. Based off existing characters or an OC, from about the same amount of genres fanfiction touches down upon. Gothic Lolita is considered a form of Cosplay.
Gothic Lolita = Tokyo-based clothing style emphasizing cutesy doll-style ruffles and petticoats, reminiscent of the 1800's, crossed with gothic fashions. Lolita also exists by itself, being predominantly made up of pastels and light-colored wigs.
