Like Bulletproof Glass
Like bulletproof glass she's not meant to be broken;
Taking everything that comes her way without hesitation.
Her mask: a protective shield for whatever may be inside.
Punches. Kicks. Stabs. Bullets.
Whatever comes her way she knocks aside.
Leaving only the tiniest scratch, nothing visible,
To an untrained eye.
But she can see it … oh how she sees it.
Noticing after so long, the cracks (not visible to anyone but her), behind her calm demeanor.
Looking over with worry she receives yet another of her false smiles.
A smile that is so simple to make yet hiding all emotions except forged happiness.
So she stands there wondering; will it ever be real?
Maybe, she hopes.
Then again, maybe it's too late.
Even as she says it's a lie, she silently hopes for the best.
Because there is only so much bulletproof glass can take…
How much it can take before the line of defense
just shatters and breaks.
I got the idea from the wonderful story Stain by Eagle8819. Yeah I don't think that this is probably the best there is...(or even close) but still. I've always read everyone else's stories and stuff so I decided to put up one myself.
Please review. This is the first thing I've ever put up so flame me... give me advice... just do whatever. Anything is welcome!
