Le Note: I had this image of Alice escaping from her cage and running away to the forest before she was captured. With said image in mind, this is what I came up with. And as my first Kingdom Hearts ficlet/drabble in ages, I don't like it. Gah...

Running Little Girl
(But where you end up remains unknown…)
"I want to go home." The words keep floating through her head as she runs through the messed up rows of purple leaf covered trees, the little creatures and whatnots fleeing from her path from fear of being crushing beneath her prim and proper shoes. (As her sister would say, "Alice, dear, those shoes were not designed for running.") But what, pray tell, is she running from? And where is she running? She doesn't know. Here in this strange world (where plants can talk, cats smile and disappear, leaving behind confusion, and doorknobs that talk when you twist them, complaining of you interrupting their sleep, and she's just so freaked out and curious of it all), she doesn't know anything. Her brain keeps screaming, "Alice, stop! Alice, there's nothing there. Alice! Will you just listen to me?" But she ignores it. All the poor girl wants is to go home. She wants to see Dinah again, she wants to make those stupid flower crowns, she longs to hear her sister give her a classic lecture on not paying attention, she wants to be in a place where there's nothing but familiarity. So she runs. She runs from the shadows that move when it seems like she's not looking, she runs from the crazy cat with its insane laugh, she runs from the crazy queen who appears so determined to take off someone's head. She runs.
