Two Is Better Than One
A/N Here is my next one-shot. I hope you all like it.
The song is by Boys Like Girls and I don't own the characters of Yugioh. I am making no profit off of this and it is for fun only.
Yugi let out a sigh as he sat behind the counter as he watch the customers come and go. The couples reminding him of his love.
He was reminded of the day they met. When his love came into his life and what he thought of him. From the start Yugi knew there was something between the two of them.
It was like no matter what Yugi's love said or did it took his breath away. Now he felt like he was left with nothing. An emptiness inside.
"Maybe it's true, Atemu. Maybe I can't live without you." Yugi said softly as he started to close the shop. It was his now that grandpa was dead. He had been left to him in the old man's will.
At the age of twenty-six Yugi had done and seen a lot of things. He still had all his friend from high school. Was still going to college and even taught at Kaiba's Duel Academy. After all, the kids there love getting tips from the "King of Games".
But no matter what he did, Yugi could never forget Atemu. Could never forget the looks he sometime sent Yugi's way. The way he would roll his eyes or the way his kisses tasted.
It was now later that night that Yugi was laying his cold lonely bed. Now it was true that Atemu was just a sprit trapped in the puzzle and they never really slept in the same bed. It just felt that way to Yugi.
After all the adventures they went on they got to know each other rather well and fell in love. They even, in Yugi's soul room, made love to each other. More then once.
Now Yugi had nothing left but his dreams and memories. It was only when he closed his eyes and drifted away he felt okay. Because it was here in his dreams that he was with his pharaoh. It was here he felt loved and wanted again.
But when morning came, as it always did, that when he would realized something. He would realize that when it had been the two of them it was better then just him.
It was a few night later that Yugi was dreaming of their first day, when they met. Well when Yugi became way of the sprit. It had been Ryou's sprit had trapped them all in their favorite cards before the two sprit duel for their souls in the shadow realm.
As the memories played out Yugi could feel himself coming undone. How he wished life was different or at the end he had gone with the pharaoh.
Because it was getting harder and harder to live without his love. Yes he did have the rest of his life to figure things out but when it was all over and done with life had been better when it was the two of them.
As Yugi slowly woke up and looked over at the puzzle that was now empty and just a reminder of his past he knew his life had been better with the two of them then just one of him. "It was always better with Atemu." Yugi said as he got up and the tears fell.
