Author's Note: This was inspired by a tumblr post I'm too lazy to find. Also I'd kill for the five acting like normal kids. Also I don't really like this as much but you guys deserve content so consider this filler.
In any friend group, there is one person who acts as the token mom friend. Whether they're female or not, the mom friend is what keeps everyone else from dying from stupidity.
Scott was that friend. It all came down to process of elimination. After the old one's defeat, the others had subconsciously decided to act like regular teenagers. Perhaps it was a coping mechanism. Scarlett was the only one with a normal life and when you've experienced the apocalypse, it's nice to have a sense of regularity.
Unfortunately that regularity came with a dose of dumbness.
Scarlett stood on Jamie's shoulders on her window ledge. She fumbled her hands along of the edge of the rooftop.
Scott entered Scarlett's room. Jamie's lower body could be seen from the window.
Jamie, what are you doing? Scott thought, folding his arms against his chest.
Nothing.
Scott scowled. I'm in Scarlett's room. I can see you. Why?
Scarlett and I were playing basketball and we might've accidentally thrown the ball on the roof.
And you two thought this would be the best way to get it back?
In hindsight, no.
Scott went over to the window and accessed Scarlett's mind. Hello Scarlett.
Scarlett jolted. Scott?
Listen, I'm getting you two away from certain death. You know, I thought this would stop after we defeated Chaos. I need you to find a way to get lower.
That's what she said. How low are we talking?
I don't know. Piggybacking should suffice.
Scott waited until Scarlett was no longer standing on top of Jamie. Jamie, slide your foot into the room. Scarlett, hang tight.
Good. Other foot.
Bend your knees and slide in.
The two got in safely. Scott took a deep breath. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?! YOU COULD'VE FELL AND DIED."
"But we didn't." Scarlett pointed out. "Plus I control the wind."
