The battle raged furiously in the castle. Tremors shook the walls, and made me stumble as I ran. Blood covered the floor in places, and walls imploded as spells hit them. A window beside me exploded, raining shards of glass down on me. I barely registered the cuts caused by this. I was more focused on finding Remus.

"He was duelling Dolohov," Aberforth had said. "Haven't seen him since!"

Dolohov…

I ran back to the window, searching for Dolohov. And sure enough, I found him, battling several Hogwarts students. Remus wasn't in sight. Panic started to surge through me as I searched the bodies and faces, hoping that I would find Remus, alive. But the only face I recognised was that of a body lying by the stairs leading to the entrance of the castle. I ran as fast as I could to the Entrance Hall, firing curses at any Death Eaters who came near. I threw myself down the stairs, and landed next to the body. My heart faltered.

It was Remus.

He could have been sleeping. His eyes were closed, his face relaxed. I felt tears stinging the corners of my eyes as I knelt beside him. I placed my hand on his chest, above his heart, trying to feel the heartbeat.

Nothing.

Despair coursed through me, as my tears fell like waterfalls. I cradled him in my arms, my tears falling on his face. To think, to know, that I would have to go the rest of my life without my partner, my best friend, my love, was unbearable. I had never felt such sadness before. But, along with the sadness, was rage. Rage. Rage that someone could do this, that someone could rip a life out of the world without thinking of the consequences. And I knew who that someone was. Antonin Dolohov.

I wanted to go, go and get my revenge, but my heart wouldn't let me. I couldn't leave Remus. I needed to stay with him.

"Hello, Nymphadora," came a snide, baby-like voice from behind me. I looked up, up at the castle, and felt even more sadness washing through me. I knew who was behind me, and I sighed before I turned to face my aunt.

"Well, well, Nymphadora," Bellatrix said again in the same baby-like tone. "What have we here? Is your little wolf hurt?"

I said nothing, but just stared in fear.

"Or, is the little wolfie dead?" Bellatrix asked, putting a false expression of sadness on her face. "Oh, no! That's dreadful! I'm so sorry, dear! But, I have a question for you-"

I knew what was coming…

"Would you like to join him?"

I said nothing, but just turned back to Remus, and lay my head on top of his.

"I'll take that as a yes," Bellatrix laughed. I closed my eyes.

Don't worry, Remus. I'm coming.

"Avada Kedavra!" I heard Bellatrix screech. I smiled as the green light exploded from her wand. I was going to join Remus.

I'm sorry, Teddy, I thought, before the green light hit me and I was gone.
