This is a One-shot... :)

Deadly Night

In the darkest forest of Transylvania, a little girl named Tanya and her small black cat, strode into the depths of Sylva Forest. The prickles, rocks and thorns dug into the little girl's feet, scratching and grazing them.

The tall, dead trees stood high above the ragged surface of the forest floor. They creaked and swayed with the slight breeze that brushed past them.

An occasional "HOOT! HOOT!" Would stretch through the trees, and startle the little girl. The scuttling and scratching of little creatures, rats, mice and more, made the forest sound more alive than the noise of which the trees were making.
The moon would give little light through the old lifeless trees, which came through in little patches, revealing more of the rocky ground ahead.

The little girl hummed an old lullaby to herself, while listening to unfamiliar sounds and the quiet purring of the small animal stalking slowly beside her.

Soon, the hours stretched on, and the silence began to fall upon the creatures in the forest. The small cat edged closer to its companion, as if it was guiding her through the mysterious place.

With little light the cat was able to see well, and sense any predators that may be following.

"Come on, kitty, let's stop here for now." The little girl said.

She blindly made her way to a tree and sat, leaning on the trunk. Her tired eyes began to close, which she let, and slipped peacefully into sleep.

Something that Tanya would never expect or know happened then her animal to transform into something beautiful that would protect her from anything that would pose a threat to itself or her. The beast moved to lay protectively around Tanya.

As the girl lay sleeping, the creature watches. But the sound of bark snapping and leaves rustling, the large creature quickly became alert. Its head darted in all directions searching for danger, and quickly found it.

Large red glowing eyes peered out of the darkness, three pairs of red eyes. As they stated to circle around the tree the beast and the girl were settled at, the creature let out a low growl. They closed in on the beast and the girl, but soon slightly backed away when the beast let out another low growl.

"Leave, animal! Give us the girl." One of the predators, telepathically said in a cruel, evil way.

"Never! I am to protect her with my life, that is what I was ordered!" The beast replied.

"Oh? Who ordered that? The mice!? " The predator snarled.

The others cackled like a bunch of hyenas. The beast didn't reply, it new better then to give away any information. The predator chuckled.

"So it was the mice? No, you just won't tell us! We'll have to force it outta you. Come on birdy, open you beak." The creature still didn't budge. The predator growled.

"Spill it, bird brain! Tell us, who's your boss?" The predators still circled around them.

"No one you'll ever know." The creature replied quietly. By now, the predators were furious, one growled loudly and moved closer, so did the other two. The creature with its massive wingspan raised its wings high in warning.

"You threaten me!" One of the predators snarled.

"Go now! Or I'll kill you!" The creature telepathically yelled. With those words said, the wind sped up, and then made a roaring sound. The predators cowered in fear, and fled in a trail of leaves.

'They'll be back,' the creature thought 'they always are.'

And this creature was none other, but the mighty Griffin.
