Gabriella, I need answers!" Troy Bolton moaned walking into his best friend Gabriella Montez's room.
"About what, Troy?" Gabriella asked tying her hair up in a ponytail.
"What are you doing?" Troy asked as he flopped onto the bed. "Are you busy?"
"Not really," she said. "I was just checking my mail. What did you want my help for?"
"I don't understand girls," Troy said, sitting up on the bed.
Gabriella laughed as she pulled up a stool close to the bed.
"Amy dumped you, huh?" she asked.
"Yes," Troy said. "And, all I did was not reply to one of her three billion messages."
"Troy, listen," Gabriella said leaning close to the bed. "Remember seven things about a girl and you'll be fine."
"What are they?" Troy asked leaning closer to her. Their faces were a couple of inches apart.
"Okay," Gabriella said. "When a girl is quiet, it means that she has a lot one her mind. When she looks at you with eyes full of questions, she is wondering how long you'll be around. When a girl answers that she is fine after a few seconds, she isn't fine at all. When a girl sends you a message everyday, she wants you to reply at least once. When a girl says she loves you, she means it. When a girl says she can't live without you, she has made up her mind that you're part of her future. When she says that she misses you, believe her, because no one can miss you more than her."
"Got it," Troy said. "Now will you tell me what guys think of girls?"
"Why?" she asked.
"I want to see what your opinions are like," he replied.
"Okay," Gabriella shrugged. "When a guy is quiet, it means he has nothing to you. When he looks at you with eyes full of questions, it is because he is confused. If he answers that he is fine after a few seconds it means that he is actually fine. When a guy sends a message, he is probably just forwarding them. When a guy says that he loves a girl, it's probably just words. When he says he can't live without you, it means that he's going to keep you around for at least a week. When he says he misses you –"
"You're wrong," Troy interrupted. "When a guy is quiet it may be because he has nothing to say, or because he's thinking about stuff. When a guy looks at you with eyes full of questions, it's because he is confused. I agree with that one. And, when he answers fine after a few seconds, it means he's not fine. And some guys may write their own message and mean it when they say that they love you and that they can't live without you. One more thing is, when a guy lies on your lap, he is wishing that you will be with him forever."
"That's different from what girl's think," Gabriella said, finally.
All of a sudden, Troy leant towards Gabriella and kissed her.
"What was that?" she asked when he pulled away.
"I love you," he whispered. "And, I mean it. I can't hold my feelings for you inside me. I've tried to bury them, but, I couldn't. I need you, Ella. I can't live without you. I want to be with you."
Gabriella stared with him with question marks in her eyes.
"Forever," Troy smiled.
"What?" she asked confused.
"When she looks at you with eyes full of questions, she is wondering how long you'll be around'," Troy quoted her line. "And I answered 'forever'. I'll be with you forever."
Gabriella smiled slowly. Then, she kissed him.
Troy had finally understood what girls wanted and he was going to give it to Gabriella. Gabriella had thought that guys were insensitive, but, she learnt that she was wrong. Some guys were sensitive and sweet and she was glad she got one guy who loved her.
