Yay - finally, some Star Wars! This is just a little one-shot I thought up late last night.
Enjoy!
(I do not own Star Wars)
Regrets
He loved space. Space was darkness and silence; it was calm despite his inner turmoil.
Darth Vader stood on the bridge of his flagship, brooding. The incident two weeks earlier on Bespin continued to invade his thoughts and the more he thought on it, the more he brooded.
Vader snarled furiously. He should've been gentler to the child – more… fatherly. If he hadn't lost his temper, if he hadn't harmed Luke, then his son would be with him now. At his father's side, where he belonged. But he wasn't. Faced with the final challenge, Luke had preferred to fall to his death, then rescued by the Falcon.
Even now Vader could feel Luke's emotions streaming through their bond, though the child wasn't aware that he was broadcasting his feelings. Fear, pain, confusion… a tumult of emotions rushed at the Sith Lord.
Luke… Gently, Vader reached out. Come with me.
But there was no answer.
He'd lost everything – his mother, his wife, and now, now, he'd lost his son. With a pained sigh, Vader turned and headed for his chambers.
Even a Sith Lord could have regrets.
So, did you like it? I'm wondering if I should add another part featuring Luke... what do ya'll think?
And don't forget to R&R! Thanks!
